Overview
About Me
I'm a generally quiet, fairly laid-back, queer geek who's interested in learning something new whenever I can. I'm married to a creative, young-at-heart paint slinger who previously displayed her art up and down the west coast.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My wife and I would love to host at some point, however we are not currently in a position to offer more than meeting up with people for a drink or coffee. We are in the process of buying a house and making it ready to eventually host.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
While I'm technically not new to the CouchSurfing website, I am new to couchsurfing in general. Our first host was amazing! She and her boyfriend were great folks and enjoyable to stay with. I look forward to further participation in this community in the future and hope to gain quite a few new experiences and perhaps some new friends!
Interests
Life in general.
Beyond that, I'm a technophile. Even if I can't afford the latest & greatest, that doesn't mean I'm not looking into it and researching. I'm also a very interested in movies, although it seems that I've not seen a lot of what many people consider to be essentials.
Despite my being a relative introvert, I am interested in people. Maybe not in a huge social setting, but getting to know people for who they are...what makes them tick.

Music, Movies, and Books
Scifi/Fantasy would be a good way to summarize many of my interests when it comes to books & movies. I also enjoy older comedies, independent films and documentaries.
Music - this is also too broad to really do justice to. Let's just say that I generally enjoy everything except for most country & western. Big on my list of interests, though, would be chiptunes.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I attended a dinner and conversed with Alex Blumberg and Adam Davidson of NPR's Planet Money.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've started getting into geocaching. If you've never been, it's sort of like a high-tech scavenger/treasure hunt where you use a GPS to get you to the approximate location before searching more thoroughly once you get there. I'd probably do some geocaching wherever I go, pending good weather.
