Sobre mí

24-year-old German girl with constant wanderlust.

By constant wanderlust, I don't mean this kind of "I need to travel to a new place once a year", but rather a constant longing to explore new places, be it a town 10 minutes away from my home or the other side of the world.

I started traveling on my own when I was 14 and haven't stopped ever since. My biggest adventures have been in New Zealand, my gap year to Australia, Japan and South East Asia and several spontaneous trips around Europe.

Through traveling I have changed, improved, been challenged and lost, so that I am now confident to face any new experience that will come up in the future (:

I am currently studying study cultural studies and organisational psychology at uni in Lüneburg, trying to figure out where to travel next.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

The origins:
When I was an exchange student in New Zealand my teacher, who travelled far and wide told me about Couchsurfing and I immediately fell in love with the whole concept of meeting locals on a personal basis, getting to know how they live, having a chat with them and just catching a glimpse at the real culture ( not only the tourist attractions)

Now:
I realised that ticking places off my bucketlist just isn't what i want traveling to be. Instead i like to meet people, hear their stories and learn how their culture differs and converges with mine. In the last few years I have met the most incredible people who taught me a lot about traveling and life. I just believe that traveling is not about saying "oh I have seen Shibuya crossing", but rather about moments like "I got lost in Fukuoka and asked a random stranger for directions- he helped me out and just gave me his umbrella because it was raining so bad."

Algo increíble que he hecho

In case you haven't noticed until now: I am really fond of making lists!
So instead of just naming one amazing experience, i will list a few.
In case you're still interested in the most amazing one, you might learn about it when we meet!(:

•Found a place to call home
•Met the most incredible people
•Fell in love with my studies
•Lived on my own in Japan.
•Bought a van, outfitted it and travelled with it all around New Zealand and Europe.
•Bungy jump from Auckland Harbour bridge
•New Zealand.
•Became a woofer
•Climbed all the way up to Roys Peak although I suck at walking uphill

...and many more to come!

Enseña, aprende, comparte

There are three fields that I feel confident enough in to teach you:
- Culture (there is so much to it!)
- Languages (English, French, German)
- Film & Photography

oh and for my studies, i like to ask odd questions and answer them in essays.
Whenever we encounter something out of the ordinary, my friends go ,, Johanna can you write an essay on this?''
I’m also quite good at providing fun facts about pretty much anything

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

I am by far not the best cook, but I can bake and teach you some German or French, recommend you some movies, songs, books or places to go or help you with Photoshop. If you are interested in New Zealand, i can help you with organizing every little detail as I have spent heaps of time there and know all the insider tips (:

Also, I enjoy just having long chats with hosts and really getting to know them and their culture.
