About Me

Welcome on my couchsurfing page!

My Name is Johanna,

I was born in the south-west of germany, where you can't find a single big city, but a lot of wineyards, trees and mountains. I'm studying Psychology in Bonn, the former capital of western germany since two years, but I'm still always happy to get home. Then I grab my dog and explore this beautiful place, I was pleased to grow up in. After my graduation from school I lived in Ireland for 3 months to be an Au Pair, which was the best experience ever. I absolutely loved it!
In my free time I like to play soccer, dancing or hanging with friends. Also I like to go out and have some drinks. I love to cook and bake, so if you host me, you'll be able to enjoy my skills :)
I'm also kind of obsessed with history, which is the reason why I really enjoy watching history documentaries.

Last year I volunteered to run a playing group for refugee children, which was also a great experience, because it taught me to communicate without speaking the same language, to have a lot of fun and how much children can give you back no matter, which kind of a rough way layed behind them.

I would describe myself as optimistic, very positive and open minded, structured and helpful. But as I really like to talk, you can just ask me anything and we'll share our stories :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I don't just want to see the touristic part of the world, I would like to meet local people and get to know the real local life :) Also I'd love to meet people from all over the world, learn more about their culture, food, language and country. So please tell me more about you!
Also I would like to give others the possibility to visit Bonn, which is very little known but a beautiful city.

Music, Movies, and Books

I absolutely love reading! My favorite books are fantasy books like "lord of the rings", "the black magican" trilogy (Trudi Canavan), "Harry Potter" and a lot of other books. Please feel free to ask me about books or discuss about them. I would also be happy to be inspired for some new books :)

My favorite kind of music is rock, for example Guns n' Roses. But I also like Pop-Punk like Sum 41 or Blink 182 and Punk like Rise Against.

For movies it's more difficult because I'm entertained by a lot of things. I (of course) enjoy fantasy movies pretty much, so i really love lord of the rings (you can judge me right now :D) but I also like the Marvel movies or good old Bridget Jones or other Hugh Grant movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Some of the best experiences I've ever made was living in Ireland, which is an awesome country! It's literally green from the bottom to the top! I used to live in Dun Laoghaire, which is just outside of Dublin, so I really got to love that city. But I also used my free weekends (I've been an Au-Pair) to travel the island and I got to see a lot of great spots.
This experience showed me that I can make friends easily because I'm open minded and love to be with people from all over the world. Thats nice, because you have a lot of places to visit to meet all your friends again. All together I have to say, that I really enjoied living abroad. The irish are very nice and welcoming so they made me feel irish pretty soon. I hope that I'll be able some time to live in an other country to get to know more cultures.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to cook and bake so I maybe can pass you some secret family receipts :)

I used to dance for several years, so if you would like to learn a little bit of Salsa, Quickstep, Tango, ChaChaCha or something similar, we may have some time to practice.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm from a wine-region (yes, germany does not just have beer), so I can offer to bring some great bottles. Also I'm pretty good at baking so you might be able to enjoy some cookies or cake.
Here in Bonn I'm often called Mum by my friends, because I like to cook and invite them. Maybe you always wanted to try Spätzle or Dampfnudeln?

As I'm living in a shared flat in a dorm I'm not really able to host guys or long stays, I'm very sorry :(
