About Me

I'm a 24 year old student studying my Master's in writing and publishing. On break from uni, so decided to spend Australian summer in freezing Canada and Europe with my boyfriend who's on exchange in Montreal.
I like playing guitar and piano (if you have one in your house I'll happily play you a song), skating, surfing, hiking, camping, writing and just generally being pretty active and exploring.
I'm pretty laid back, clean and tidy and I can cook as well! If you're really lucky I'll bring out my family's famous meat pie recipe and I love learning to cook new things from other people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet a whole heap of new people, experience other cultures and learn new things as well as save a little bit of money while travelling.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: varies a lot, depending on the mood I'm down for some filthy hip hop, cheesy pop or grunge rock. I really like mellow acoustic stuff like Dope Lemon (Angus Stone), loving NZ band Camp Cope lately too, but also really enjoy some Opiou and other EDM classics.

Movies: love my brain numbing rom-coms, mostly I watch movies when I just want to switch off after uni, so a lot of trash. But on the right day I love a good coming of age tear-jerker or uncomfortable dystopian sci-fi.

Books: so many books!! I love a lot of Aussie authors and have been reading a lot of short fiction lately as well. Not generally a fan of biographies or non-fiction, but that could just be because I haven't really tried it out much.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Surfing with dolphins on the Sapphire Coast of Australia was pretty amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can teach you how to solve a rubik's cube (if you have the patience!). I'm also more than happy to help out with English grammar and editing as that's what I do in my Master's and I can always show you a couple of chords on guitar or piano (although I'm definitely not an expert).

Learn: I love learning anything! Particularly local stories and histories (being a writer I'm always looking for cool material).

Share: I'm always up for sharing a new recipe or a meal, I love learning new dishes and will happily cook for you as well.
