I live in Hamburg, Germany.
I am sociable, easy going and I love to travel, meet other people and get to know their way of life.
Sharing a good story, having a lough or preparing a wonderful meal together... There are so many things that are much better together than alone.
I'm interested in meeting new people (foreigners become friends), getting to know their culture and traveling to places I haven't been before.
I've allready been to Latvia, India, England, Ireland, Belgium, Denmark and Corsica.

PHILOSOPHY
Be a traveller not a tourist - life starts when we leave our comfort zone and try something new. There is so much to see, to learn and to share.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing to get into contact with people.
I've never booked an 'all inclusive' holiday. Mostly stayed in hostels in shared dorms. It's much more fun to be with other people and have a good chat about everything that comes to one's mind.
I love individual trips. Sometimes I do backpacking or biking. That depends very much on the country I'm visiting.

Interests

Obviously I like travelling. I don't know why but since I was a teen I was keen to see as much as I could .
At first I travelled within Germany (biking), than I started to other European countries and let's see, what comes next.. :)
It's always great to go to yet unknown places. I really admire people who are of old age and have travelled their whole life.

DIY...
I can knit and sew but also construct my own furniture or at least adjust it to my liking.

Vegetarian cooking...
I've been vegetarian since I was twelve.
There are many vegetarian options, so I don't miss meat at all.
No one has to follow my way of life, but if someone starts telling me I had to eat dead things to get enough nutrients, we probably won't become friends. It's live and let live :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to almost everything. David Bowie, classical music, electronic music, rock music and some from all over the World.

Mostly I read when I'm travelling but I don't take books back home. Mostly I buy them secondhand wherever I am and swap with other travellers once I've finished reading. So I don't have a favorite author or genre. My choice of books is random.
If I read at home it's motsly biographies and historical fiction.

Movies:
It depends on my mood. I just don't like horror films.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've participated in a hiking trip in a river.
Hot sun above while walking through cool water. It was extremely demanding because of the slippery ground.
I also went to the Himalaya for two months and spent most of the time in isolated areas.

I want to learn how to sail.

I can share some good stories from life and traveling.

I'm good at DIY - stuff and I know some nice places in Hamburg. I can show you around :)
Can cook a good vegetarian meal...
