About Me

Love travelling and exploring new places, alone aswell as with friends. After my solo trip through Europe I am amazed by our wonderful and diverse continent and want to explore much more of it within the next months and years. But first I also want to get to know more places in Germany - somehow we always tend to underestimate our own country when it comes to traveling but I am sure there are some beautiful spots to discover!

You'll find me in a café reading a book, on a street food market, in secondhandshops or lost in some old town alleys. Always up for a talk about life and the universe, saving the planet, books, politics and chocolate cake.

I can wander around completely alone for a day without getting bored but also like to be guided by locals to some secret spots in the city. Love to have some beers, wine or any other drinks, go to music festivals or clubs or just sit by a river, lake or the ocean in the evening - or some days I'm happy to sleep at 10pm, you never know!
But I'm always keen to get to know my hosts or surfers on a personal level and interact with them, I think it's great to open up to strangers and actually meet new people in real life, not only online.

After living in India for ten months and then doing my bachelor on the Netherlands for three years I recently moved to Paris for the next adventure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I hate being a tourist, so exploring a new place with locals is the way to go.
On a deeper level it's awesome to get in touch with strangers and get to know a glimpse of their daily life.
I believe that we have to go back to interacting more with people we don't know, exchange believes and views on the world, politics and environment and realize that we all belong together even though we might not be citizens of the same country. That's my hope for the future: that our generation is open minded enough to develop a world wide community and feeling of togetherness instead of borders, fences and intolerance.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Why Are You Here Café by John Streckely probably inspired me the most.
And Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari turned my whole view about our planet and us human beings around, a must read for everyone!
But since I'm reading a lot I keep finding amazing books and I can never decide or remember which ones I loved most.

Spotify playlists full of indie music, Phoenix, Tame Impala, Kakkmaddafakka, The Beatles, Boy Pablo, Whitney are only few of my favorites. But also techno, house and dub - my personality is quite split between the two ;)

The most beautiful movie is "Call me by your name"! Makes me want to live in italian villages, eat fresh peaches and swim in ice cold creeks right away.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Solo travelling in India and Interrail in Europe - even though it's sometimes tough, I absolutely loved the freedom and endless opportunities that only can experiencend when you're not dependent on anyone but yourself. I met so many kind people who helped me out, families who shared their food with me, other travellers who inspired me to explore other places.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always keen on hearing about other people's experiences in other counties and cultures, sharing tips and knowledge about travelling and being inspired by one another. After having spent a year living and working in an NGO in rural India I can share a lot of stories about that.

I love to learn about foreign traditions, food and family life and can always share my own experience from my homecountry Germany and my second home India.

Most importantly I see couchsurfing as a big chance to share views on politics, history and environment to broaden one's own horizon and use the opportunity to talk to people from different countries, continents, cultures and societies. That's such a unique opportunity we have today thanks to the internet and our open minds.
