About Me

If I should describe myself in just a few words, I would pick: nature-loving, open to new experiences and curious. Since April 2019 I was traveling on bicycle from the Yukon to Southern Vancouver Island, where I had amazing experiences I would love to share. But let’s begin at the start.

In the age of 16 I went on an exchange year to Norway, where I lived in a host family and attended a Norwegian school. I became very self-confident, open to new people and experiences and curious about other ways of living. I like to talk with new people, discuss with them and to learn new things!
Furthermore, I learned to speak English and Norwegian fluently.

Back in Germany I continued to pursue my love for nature: bird watching, care for own honey bees, hiking and gardening. I like to be outside! That's why I'll probably study biology. Sustainability and organic food is in my opinion an important achivement.

After finishing highschool, I decided to fulfill my dream: working & traveling in Canada. That means, I helped on a Honey Winery close to Calgary, worked in moving, painting and construction jobs, then in an Italian restaurant in Edmonton and on off-grid homesteads in the Yukon. My last adventure: travel through Western Canada on bicycle.

In my freetime, I like to cook or bake. That means I like to try various, new meals , bake sourdough bread or create sweet temptations. Other hobbies of mine are playing the piano (also in several bands), doing athletics, biking, reading books (also in English), ... ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm curious about other people, cultures and ways of living. Couchsurfing is a great platform to get in touch with new people and to share knowledges. It's very useful to get connected and learn new things. And, of course, it helps to find open-minded people, who would provide a sleeping place for other people. Thanks, by the way!

Books: I like many kinds, mainly historical romans (i.e. by Ken Follett: The Needle)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travel more than 2000 km through Western Canada - on a bicycle (ca. 3 months)

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you German and Norwegian or some cooking and baking recipes, if you like.

I love playing the piano and jamming, so if you play an instrument or if you can sing... ;)

I‘d like to learn the Canadian way of living (i.e. Canadian cooking recipes, ...) and to explore the nature (hiking, camping, ...)

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you are interested, I can teach you which birds are singing and flying around your home spot or how honey is made through caring for bees the year around
I’d also like to help you in your home, wether it’s cooking, baking, cleaning, repairing etc. I’d say I’m a helpful person and I like to give sth. back for the free accommodation.
