Overview
About Me
Well, I'm a bit of a nerd/geek, which started with a big interest in computers and electrical stuff. Although this evolved to my profession (kind of), I've explored and maintained quite a few non-technical hobbies over the years, e.g. wine making, cooking, baking, swimming (lifeguard), boating, martial arts, dancing, trail running, slacklining, windsurfing, ...so, many topics to talk about ;-)
Most of all, however, I'm an avid rock climber who also takes interest in (ski) mountaineering, hiking and alpine climbing. I take my main motivation for traveling from such outdoor activities.
I tend to do/learn/understand things pretty thoroughly and like to get/keep a clear and structured, open mind. Nevertheless, I'm pretty easy going and like an occasional beer/drink.
I've been living in shared apartments for over ten years now.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's inspiring to meet new and interesting people. I'm not very much into the typical touristy activities. In my experience, you get a much deeper and easier understanding of a new place when you talk to locals that usually provide invaluable insights.
