About Me

I travel mainly to meet people. Of course beautiful and famous places are interesting, and if you are already there you want to see them. But for me, buildings, beaches or the perfect photo are not the main focus. What fascinates me much more are the people who live in a place and their stories.

Through encounters with people from different cultures you quickly realize that we are often much more similar than we think at first. Conversations like that and different perspectives are what make traveling truly meaningful to me. And if such encounters turn into good acquaintances or even friendships, that is far more valuable to me than any sightseeing spot. There are no strangers here, only friends you haven't met yet.

In addition to traveling, I love sports and being active. I generally try to stay curious, not lose my inner child, and I like to try new things that may seem a little crazy or outside my comfort zone—because those are usually the moments that create the best stories in life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think Couchsurfing is one of the most beautiful ways to travel because it allows exactly what I love most about traveling: genuine encounters with people. I don’t just want to see places as a tourist, but experience them through the people who actually live there. Conversations, stories, and different perspectives are what make traveling truly meaningful to me.

Also I have a personal bucket list of places and experiences I want to experience in my life. One day I want to be able to say that I truly lived my life and didn’t just exist — without many things to regret. I think Couchsurfing can help me on that journey.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A friend and I spent a week living on islands in a large lake in Sweden, which we had to reach by canoe. We lived off the food we had brought with us or found, and slept in our tents. Above all: being offline for one week, just us and nature.
