Overview
About Me
Hello, I am Johannes (35, originally from Germany) and my partner is Ava (28, from America). We are nomadic beings with the focus of living the change we wish to see in the world. Combined we’ve been traveling the world for a decade, Connecting from a heart-centered place and exploring and nurturing the world in an ethical way; We are happy to share our nomadic lifestyle and experiences with you.
We enjoy exchanging knowledge and experiences with different people as means to creating a compassionate and wholesome understanding and perspective of culture, life, and the world. Local exchange is invaluable to understanding and learning.
Both vegan and avid hikers, we enjoy walking and spending time in nature. I am a photographer, media artist, and enjoy creative cooking while Ava loves gardening, growing food and sustainable design.
---------------
Only Johannes (old description):
In short: Open Minded Globetrotter and Soul Searcher.
I work as a media artist, graphic- and webdesign freelancer and photographer. I'm a traveller by the heart with huge dreams and lots of experience. I am very easy going, open minded, vegan, meditator, nonsmoker, pilgrim, yogi, interested in all kinds of health and new (spiritual) experiences. I am an adventurous individual who enjoys being outdoors and spending time being active. I am a risk taker and have no problem striking up a conversation with a total stranger.
When I travel I love to get to know the locals, and their customs, and am always up for a challenge. I try to thrive in a culture where others share deep appreciation for land, and believe life is best lived outdoors. I love a hard hike, but also love the water and am happy to spend a day beach side. I thrive in a society with diversity and appreciate a simpler way of living. I am keen on learning about cultures and customs that are different than my own, and enjoy a deep conversation, whether it be philosophical or spiritual. This world gives me endless opportunities to live both an active lifestyle and enjoy the company of new found friends. I have a strong creative streak, and enjoy working on new projects. I love getting into intellectual discussions, and don’t like to converse with others who seem shallow. I have been called a free spirit once or twice in my life before, and don’t like to live within the confines of society’s rigid rules. I love travel, and hop on a plane or train every chance I get. Adventure and exploring the world around me get me excited and make me feel alive, so I do best in the company of other free spirits and dreamers. People and stories interest me more than facts and figures do; I focus on the essence of ideas over the details. I am carefree: I tend to live in the moment, I don’t waste a lot of emotional energy fretting about the future. Instead, I focus on getting the most out of life right now. Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To share experiences and get a local glimpse of all these places which would be so boring without anyone to talk to. The earth is such a fantastic and diverse planet and I want to meet all its inhabitants no matter if human or not. I am interested in your story, your life and your thoughts and will be keen to tell you mine if you're interested.
Interests
To minimalise all posessions, to live life with respect to nature and all its beings, to think about what's important in life for me, you and all of us. Only leave footprints as small, and love as big as possible. To find all possible joy and happiness in your true inner self and in the particular moment; to be in the present. To find freedom and love everywhere I go.
