Hey 👋 my name is Johannes, originally from Munich now splitting my time between Berlin and Zurich. I love exploring and ticking things off my ever-growing bucket list - whether it's big trips or quick city getaways. In the Summer, I'm usually outdoors cycling, swimming, hiking or enjoying live music at open-air concerts. During the colder months, I try to spend as much time as possible on the slopes - or unwind with a good book, a movie, a painting session, or some cooking experiments (usually following someone else’s recipe).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m cycling through the Alps for three weeks in May and looking for places to stay and people to connect with along the way. My route takes me from Southern Bavaria through Tyrol into Northern Italy - around Lago di Garda and Lake Como - then up through the Swiss Alps, down to Lake Constance, and back to Southern Bavaria. I’ll be riding solo, so what better way to end a day in the saddle than by sharing stories with good company.

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste in music is all over the place - from electronic music (hard to avoid in Berlin!) to old-school rap and hip hop, with plenty of other genres in between. When it comes to movies, I’m into anything by Christopher Nolan, David Fincher, or Wes Anderson. Lately, I’ve been working through a list of classics like Citizen Kane, Pulp Fiction, and The Godfather though. Still on the hunt for a great book or two for my trip in May—open to any page-turner recommendations!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scuba diving in the Galapagos is definitely one of the highlights - I've never seen underwater scenes that stunning, with giant manta rays and sharks casually cruising by more often than not.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Bavarian, padel tennis, or how to walk on your hands. Still hoping to pick up juggling, a few simple card tricks, and whistling with my fingers.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I spent some time in Mexico and ended up with a decent guacamole game. Beyond that, I’m pretty handy - happy to help out with anything from cooking dinner and doing the dishes to lending a hand around the apartment, house, or garden.
