CURRENT MISSION
...getting my bachelor thesis in International Marketing/Sustainability Marketing written.
ABOUT ME
Apart from the usual self-description found on the couchsurfing-profiles (...easy-going, open minded, humours, interested people and traveling..) here are some more details about myself and my current "mission" which you might find interesting :) Being born in the sunny and welcoming south-west of Germany I initally intended to study something "creative" like product design or photography as I was very intrieged (and still are) by this themes. After finishing school I accordingly attended a art school in order to prepare a folder to apply for an university. The year at this school was fantastic with great personal encounters and experiences. During this time, however, I realized, that I wouldn't be happy working entirely in a an "artistic" job and that I would need something more "down to earth" which nevertheles would allow me to apply my creativity and knowledge about design.
So I started working in the marketing department of an organic-certfied backery for some years. During this time I developed a strong interest in marketing but also in sustainability. Consequently I decided to take on studies in order to get to know more about this subject and how the topics "marketing", "sustainabilty" and "design" could be combined in order to make a lasting impact and positive change on the way people consume. Right now I#m about to leave for Southhampton, England to start my internschip in the marketing department of a company. In January next year I will continue my studies at the University of Monterrey, Mexico, which I'm already really exited about ---to be continued---

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
One evening, while hitch-hiking through the nothern part of France together with a friend of mine, we ended up in front of a DIY store displaying wodden garden cottages at the outskirts of a smal town. We desperately were trying to hitch-hike our way out of town in order to find a place to set the tend for the night. With litte success. Sun had already set, dusk started to settle and- lucky us- it started to rain like hell. Welcome to the Normandy! Freezing and shivering from cold, first ideas were discussed about how to get over the fence of the DIY store in order to spend a night in one of the suddenly exclusive appearing wooden cottages on display. It was pitch-black by now and we already had given up on the idea of getting anywhere this night. After what had seemed like hours, finally a car stopped in front of us. Current accomodation plans were quickly droped and we thankfully took the occation to get out of town. The young couple which gave us a lift inquired about were we planed to stay, ...and given the darkness and the unknown terrain, "everywhere" would have been just fine with us. After having a lively conversatoins about everything under the sun they indicated they would know a good place to spend the night ....and invitated us to stay in their home. Upon arring, they not only offered us to sleep in their beds, they also invited friends of them and the girl started to prepare a dough for Gallets, the salty version of Crepes. The Gallets were absolutely delicious delicious and, yes, we also got intensively in touch with a typical, red couloured liquid, France is famous for... To make a long story short: It was the beginning of an unforgettable night and certainly one of the more special, while unexpected and unplaned couch-surfing experiences.

## road cycling
## design & art (Joseph Beuys, Rodin, Phillipe Stark, Alberto Giacometti, JR, Banksy,...)
## architecture (Bauhaus, Le Corbusier,Oscar Niemeyer, Zara Hadid)
##cooking(I can't stand sitcoms or TV-shows BUT have to admit that I watched almost every single one of Jamie Olivers sitcom-like cooking shows and am absolute passionate about cooking, eager to try new recepies). I consider cooking to be an integral part of the cultural identity as well as an essential part of every day life which allows you to be creative, innovative, to use your senses (smell, fell, taste) and having a great time together. We used to have a weekly "cooking-session" with friends and although the "end-results" of our cooking where -more often then not- quite different from the dishes displayed on the photos of the recepies, we always had great fun and enjoyed the time spent together...;)
## photophraphy (Henry Cartier-Bresson and others), have a look at my photo albums at my Facebook profile and leave a comment!
## TaiChi (I used to exercise several hours per week, motivated by an outstanding couch, today, unfortunatelly -due to time reasons- this interest has become merely more than some warm up exercises on the balcony in the moring :)
## travelling/hiking: yes, whenever possible, preferably by backpack and hitch-hiking as it's (in my opinion) the best way to get in touch with the people and culture of the country you are visiting,... at the moment, however, the main "interest" is attending university
## being a student in International Marketing, having a strong interest in sustainabilty and psychology, I'm curious about finding new and better ways towards a real "green" marketing- approach - one that goes behind organicly-certificated-bananas flown shipped around the globe or fast-fashion (to be thrown away after a few uses) hypocrytically sold in paperbags ("I'm a green bag").... An approach which is economically vital and accepted by the masses. An approach which is able to tackle this issue of "consumerism" in a broader, more consistend way and which is able to integrate the consumer -you and me- in it as part of the movement and alter their way of consuming towards a more sustainable way of living, consequently forcing companies to rethink their policy towards more sustainablilty. It's not about recycling packaging or planting trees in exchange for trips on planes! -it's about avoiding the packaging in the first place and/or to reduce the personal carbon footprint left behind! A challenging, yet exciting aim i.m.o :)
