About Me
Hey!
I am Johann and I am just getting back into Couchsurfing. I always had wonderful experiences both hosting and being hosted and want to pick that up again. It's really the best way to travel :)
I will start a PhD in Political Science in September and want to use the remaining bit of Summer to see a bit more of the world, meet people, share nice moments, and have a good time!
For me, traveling is really about the connections and I always try to learn a bit of the language, get to now the culture and immerse myself as much as I can. I am spontaneous and always love to try something new :)
Je suis en train de apprendre le francais, mais je ne peut pas comprendre tout et et peut-être que parfois je fais encore des erreurs :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I got into Couchsurfing ages ago, when I was on a spontaneous solo-trip in Italy trying to find people to hang out with. And since then I enjoyed really every encounter I had via Couchsurfing both as a traveller and as a host. Its really one of the best ways to travel :)
Interests
I love to make music and do many things in that area.. recently borrowed the trumpet from a friend and got really into learning that. But mostly, I sing and play the clarinet. Would be amazing if we can make some music together, but I can also stay quiet for a few weeks in the year ;)
I learn French at the moment, which I guess counts as an interest. Would love to get some more practice!
I dance tango so I am always happy to find people who also dance or places where there is a tango-commmunity ;)
I also like reading, going to the opera, the movies, listening to music and much more.

Music, Movies, and Books
Really hard to say.. or at least to pin down some most impotant books. But if I had to choose 3 books to take to a remote island.. Maybe: The Buddenbrooks by Thomas Mann, Master and Margarita and Love in the Times of Cholera.. well those are all classics. I am also really into postmodern and contemporary authors, that are pushing the boundaries.
Other than books I love all kinds of music, but really listen to a lot of Jazz and Classical. But this is not to say that I cannot enjoy pop or rock songs! I play a lot of instruments and love different and new input in terms of music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once invented a fake martial art with a friend and taught it to an entire course for 2 hours. I can tell you more details when we meet.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can show you some guitar, or basic Tango steps :)
