About Me

I'm the eighth of nine children, I moved from Connecticut to Texas in 4th grade and went to BYU for my undergrad and USC for my masters. I was a missionary in Brazil from 2002 to 2004. I married in 2005 and had three children, but in 2011, my first wife left. In 2014, I married again.

In the meantime, I've worked on 737 assembly, ISS operations, future manned rocket development, Virtual Reality, and Social Networking. I have lived in Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Seattle, Ohio, and am looking to add California to the list.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I bought a one way ticket to San Francisco while I dial up the job search that I have been conducting from afar for many months.

Like my great grandfather before me who left his family in Croatia to establish a home for them in Chicago, I come to San Francisco to get a job so that my wife can come after me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I tossed a booklet across a minivan and the spine of it lodged perfectly between two abutting pieces of plastic so that the booklet stood erect in a slot never meant to hold anything.

Anything is possible.

Teach, Learn, Share

The principal of thermal expansion is that most material (except the notable exception of freezing water) expands when it gets warmer. Many of life's mysteries and problems relate to this simple principal: Things that go bump in the night, stuck doors and other things that don't fit, weather phenomena, rocket propulsion all can be explained largely by the principal of thermal expansion.

Much odd and potentially hurtful behavior can be attributed to personal insecurity.

Why is frying food bad for you? Olive oil is good, chicken is good, so fried chicken?
