About Me

I recently finished my semester abroad in Wales, UK. I will be traveling throughout Scandinavia and Eastern Europe until the end of July. Born in the Philippines and grew up in Canada most of my life. I currently work part-time for the Canadian government and study Global and International Studies at Carleton University.

I am the type of guy who is interested in the culture and history of the places I visit. Even before moving to the UK and Wales, I made it my mission to learn every aspect of the country. Whether it's knowing the geographic location's of all the principalities, learning common greetings/phrases in the Welsh language. I prefer traveling to national parks/nature reserves. I prefer going to small towns and national parks rather than the touristy aspects of most major cities.

Even when exploring cities, I am excited about finding various hidden gems whether they be facts of the history, scenery or cheap places where locals love to eat!

Finally, I am a big foodie and want to experience local cuisine every opportunity I get it. Doesn't matter how odd or abnormal it may seem!

My philosophy:
I believe that discipline = freedom. When you focus on yourself (career goals, working out, nutrition) everything becomes easier. You become much happier and people can see that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Throughout my travels in the UK, Europe, and North Africa. I have come to realize the importance of going beyond my comfort zone. Especially when it comes to meeting locals and fellow travelers. Beyond the sightseeing aspects of traveling, meetings new people and their background has been one of my favorite things about traveling.

Even though I've only been Couchsurfing once, it is an activity that I will start doing when I get back home.
