About Me

After working in the corporate world for 2.5 years I decided to change it up a bit. Between May '15-April '16 I traveled around the world through the US , Canada, Europe, and Southeast Asia. It was the best decision I've ever made and I'd love to host others doing the same thing.

If you're ever traveling through the Chicago area and want a fun place to stay, hit me up! Living in a great area of Chicago a bit outside of the main downtown area, but 1 mile (1.6 k) from the beach and short walking distance to several restaurants and shops. Right next to the metro system as well!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Building a network of friends to connect with while traveling. I used it during my trip abroad and want to help people doing the same thing enjoy Chicago in the right way! Looking for new connections, friends, stories, and memories from around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Mumford, Modest Mouse, Knox Hamilton, Bad Suns, Matt Pond pa, alternative rock, really I like all music.

Movies: Impossible to narrow it down too much. I'm a big movie lover but my favorites are Inception, The Departed, Interstellar, Shawshank Redemption, Capote, and all comedies

Books: I don't read many books but I do read a lot of articles. More time spent on reading travel blogs, National Geographic, and the news.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hot air balloon over the ancient Temples of Bagan (Myanmar). By far the coolest thing I did while traveling.

Having the courage to quit my job to take an entire year off of work to travel.

Teach, Learn, Share

You can teach me to play guitar (always wanted to learn), your language, or share your own personal stories about traveling and your hobbies/interests. I've always wanted to get more into yoga. Really an open book on everything.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach you to swim (competitive swimmer for 16 years) and share stories about traveling and living all over the Midwest, US.

Countries I’ve Visited

Aruba, Australia, Belgium, Belize, Cambodia, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Laos, Latvia, Lithuania, Myanmar, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Poland, Scotland, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Viet Nam
