About Me
I'm an IT Consultant by day. I'm a huge music fan having attended more than 120 concerts and over 25 festivals in numerous countries. When not blowing all my money on travelling and concerts I enjoy cats, politics and football.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For various reasons a lot of the time I end up travelling by myself, I'm not the most extrovert person so it can be hard to meet people while travelling so I figured couch surfing might be a good option to meet some cool people. Also I'm getting too old for hostels!

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: I generally read music biographies or books with facts, I'm generally not a fiction fan (ain't nobody got time fo' that!). My two favourite books of all time are Wonderland Avenue and the Catcher in the Rye.
Movies: I like watching unusual stuff, independent film etc... Blockbuster movies generally don't do it for me, although there are exceptions. I like a good documentary. My three favourite films are Gummo, Donnie Darko and Spinal Tap. My favourite directors are Harmony Korine, David Lynch and Werner Herzog to name a few.
TV Shows: I like most of the American HBO and Showtime series: The Wire, The Sopranos, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Breaking Bad, Dexter, Twin Peaks. Mr. Robot is amazing if you're looking for something new to watch.
Music: I live for music!! Alternative / rock music would be my default, although I'd listen to most things (jazz, dance, electro etc...). Some favourite bands which come to mind are Air, CCR, Tool, Miles Davis, System of a Down, The Smiths, Sigur Rós, Yo La Tengo, King Crimson. I'm always going to gigs and festivals! Glastonbury and Electric Picnic this year amongst others!
Food: I'm fairly adventurous with food, willing to try anything once
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Managing to survive to this age without dying in some horrible drunken accident. Attending over 100 concerts and 25 musics. Playing bass guitar in a Irish (as in Gaelic) singing rock band for almost 2 years while barely speaking any Irish.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could probably teach you a few rudimentary bass lines. I think it's always useful to learn local swear words while sharing a few beers!
