I enjoy meeting open-minded people who expose me to new ideas and experiences. I also enjoy getting outdoors for a run or bike ride, or going to museums and events around my home city of Washington, DC, so I'd be interested in hanging out if I have free time during your visit.

NOTE: Please make sure your profile has been verified before requesting to stay with me. I give preference to people with verified profiles and positive reviews from other hosts/travelers. It's also generally easier for me to host on weekends and during fall, winter or springtime because my house isn't air conditioned and it gets very hot in the summertime! I'm never current on pop culture, and I probably haven't updated this profile statement in a while... MUSIC: Band of Horses, Glenn Hansard, The Naked and Famous, Gin Wigmore, Fat Freddy's Drop. Durand Jones and the Indications. MOVIES: Dancer in the Dark, Das Experiment, Run Lola Run, Whalerider, Once Were Warriors, Hereditary. BOOKS: Recent reads include The Lincoln Highway, Galapagos, and the Food Explorer, but I also like classics (e.g., Steinbeck).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I rode my bicycle across the United States, from Seattle to Boston, when I was 13 years old. I also lived in Samoa for 3 years, teaching math, chemistry and physics as a Peace Corps volunteer.
