I'm kind, friendly, and interested in people and places. I'm semi-retired after an interesting career as a Japanese/English interpreter. I lived in Japan for eight years, and am now based in Devonshire, a beautiful part of the UK.

I like meeting the people and learning the languages of the countries I travel to. I enjoy staying in good hotels, too, but sometimes it's nice to stay in people's homes and learn more about local life. I'm not often in a position to offer accommodation to fellow Couchsurfers, but I would certainly like to when I am.
