About Me

(I've included a description from a friend from my references [James] in order to give as objective of a description as possible.

"John is very easygoing, patient, generous, and one of the kindest, most generous people you will meet. Seriously. After working on oil rigs earlier in life, he settled back into his native territory of East Texas. As a result of his experience in the East Texas area, he can show you around very easily, and probably knows as much about the area as anyone else does. He's a good listener, enjoys the outdoors, and has two of the greatest dogs you'll ever meet, Cookie and Cricket. John enjoys time with people and has seen a good part of the US, and has traveled internationally, so he is also good for a fun chat involving travel adventure stories."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to surf and host! If you stay, it's very important to me that we actually get to chat and spend time together. In my experiences hosting with my old roommate James, sometimes people just want a free couch. But we are instead much more about building friendships by spending time together.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For discussion while you surf here!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am happy to host anyone from all walks of life. I can show you some interesting historical spots in the oldest town in Texas (Nacogdoches) such as Stephen F. Austin's burial site, and historical landmarks where the Texas' fight for independence occurred.

I'm a very experience cook and grill master.

I'm a good listener and enjoy learning about other peoples' views and ideas.
