My name is John. I grew up in the Midwestern USA. I love to travel and have been to 47 of the 50 states as well as 6 countries outside the USA. I think that life is best when you make it about serving others and treat every new experience as an adventure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am doing a backpacking trip through Europe and would like to meet new people. Also after I move into my new apartment I would love to be able to return the favor and host travelers.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like most types of music, but especially old music i.e. classic rock, classical, big band. I like action and comedy movies the best. I like to read although I don't do it as much as I used to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Haha I don't know how amazing this is but it's kind of interesting: I took a year off from college to go live in the Marshall Islands and work as a teacher. While there I built my own spear gun and would go spear fishing most Saturday nights with some of the other teachers.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not really sure what this section is for. I want to be able to travel the world and find ways to serve others and hopefully leave the places I go a little better than when I get there. I guess that's part of my life philosophy.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I plan on traveling pretty light so as far as material things go I'm not sure what I will be able to share. Although I am definitly willing to help the host out with anything that I can.
