About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Sharing what others have shared with us

ABOUT ME

We've never met a stranger. We are open to people and conversation finding it leads to something positive. We've backpacked the Yucatan for many years, also spent time in Belize helping locals. We have hosted foreign exchange students in our home. We enjoy our life in the midwest, our marriage and growing family. Plan to Travel Roatan, Belize, Guatemala, and Mexico in Feb. 2015.

PHILOSOPHY

The world is our home-respect everything that lives here-golden rule-10 commandments and good ole' common sense. You may go to the school of hard knocks-but try not to graduate with honors. Make a connection every day with someone, whom ever it is in a positive way.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love live music in small settings, will read what grabs me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scotland, golfed the Old Coarse. Spending the summers in Canada as a teenager for 6 wks. camping and canoeing. Diving in Cozumel. Seeing the community of San Mateo on San Pedro Island, Belize. Volunteer work over the years in Belize-for Holy Cross School and Yucatan in Mayan villages, Chumpon and Santa Clara. Wife and I last people to board the cruise ship after day and eve. on land - shut the door behind us -told us we just made it. If the tourist go right, we go left. Take it to the edge a little. Explore-unguided. If offered Tour-we Detour ha! Like to be a local or be with the locals. Thats how we've done and seen amazing things. Tikal ruins at sunrise. ATM Cave. Scuba dive in shipwreck 160 feet below.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach the world is a good place, with a lot of wonderful people out there, don't be afraid to travel and meet them. We've learned that fear keeps people from knowing each other. Share your home and the worlds at your doorstep. Sharing stories with our CS guests or hosts about traveling...is traveling.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We have a basement guest bedroom for one or two guests. Upstairs guest bath.
We have one medium dog, no cats. Free to smoke outside. Can show you around community. If your time allows, we always like to hang out with our guests.
