Currently a Phd student, I'm looking at the relationship between islamic movements and neoliberalisation in Turkey.

I love cooking, and especially like cooking for other people.

PHILOSOPHY

Would like to make a small contribution to change the world for the better… try to be generous and understanding and i'm an easy going individual, or at least i try to be.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment i'm not in a position to host, but will as soon as i get my own place. However, if anyone is interested in being shown around manchester on a visit i'm up for that.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None, apart from listening to the adventures a close friend of mine, who's an avid couch surfer.

Interests

Cooking, reading, activism, film, theatre. Oh and having just last year got a motor bike license, motorbikes! Would like to get into photography.

Music, Movies, and Books

At the moment i'm watching The Killing, ...also i've become strangely addicted to1960s Swedish police procedural novels….My racing tastes are electic, including Catch -22, Millennium Trilogy, Hemingway, Ian Banks, China Mieville, Pamuk, Safak, Zola…. Other films/TV include The Wire, Star Wars - in know but i grew up during the 1980s with it - Star Trek, BSG.

Getting arrested dressed as a ninja against nukes outside a missile base.
Being found not guilty at a trial for dressing up as a ninja against nukes outside a missile base.
Waking up to the sight of the alps on lake como.
Visiting the West Bank.
Parachute Jump
Punting in Oxford.
Learning to ride a motorbike
