About Me
CURRENT MISSION
If I really knew why, I wouldn't have to go.
ABOUT ME
I'm a quiet person with very loud thoughts. These two opposing forces give me energy to walk great distances, filling notebooks. I plan to circumnavigate the globe and find out if I really want to live on this planet for my whole life. So far 's' alright.
I studied English at Kansas State University, then got bored with the predictable get-a-career-plan-your-life-out-and-die routine, and started traveling. I want to learn and help people however I can. Happiness is a moving target: That's my philosophy on life.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm an atheist, but was raised Christian, and I love talking with people about any religion or belief, particularly about Jesus. He was a wise dude even if he wasn't the son of God. Right now I'm all about existentialism, and Eastern philosophies like Taoism and Buddhism. I think the minimalist lifestyle is the best way to find authentic happiness and love. The world is plentiful, and there is no reason to hoard any part of it for ourselves. The goal is not taking anything for granted.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm relatively new to CouchSurfing, and I feel excited to meet new people, occupy their couches for a while, explore cities, and learn and share anything I have to offer.
Interests
Writing, thinking, running... I get excited about poetry, studying the nature of myself and others, encountering great books and movies, and reaching whatever destination I set out for.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The book /Infinite Jest/ left me awestruck. I hitchhiked from Kansas City to NYC with my brother. Also, climbing Pike's Peak, and eating a cheeseburger on the summit---Most amazing cheeseburger I've ever had. I went camping in central Nevada next to an Air Force base, and watched fighter jets doing mock-dogfights in the desert. That was awesome. I also walked across the Golden Gate Bridge, rode the Trans-Siberian Railway for 8 days, traveled around the world twice, got on Korean television, ran with the bulls in Pamplona, fell in love in Rome, hitchhiked across America, and found a lost kitten a home in France.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a pro at writing and editing in English. I would like to learn any foreign language, or how to navigate any city, or paint.
