ABOUT ME

I guess I will start with my age, I am twenty four years old. Originally born in Wisconsin, I moved to Colorado Springs at an early age and that's where I was raised. The Springs will always be home for me, I often miss my family (who still resides there) and being so close to the mountains.

I went to college right out of high school at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley for a few years. I went to school for a business degree, and ended up becoming a firefighter. I have been in the service for three years now, working at two fire departments. I truly feel blessed to have found a job that I am so passionate about.

Working takes up the majority of my time. During the winter months you can usually find me on the hills skiing. Summer months I try to spend my time out of the house doing something active.

I have a wonderful girlfriend, Julia, who will be traveling with me. We met on a blind date and haven't looked back since. Julia is a full time student and waitress. We love spending time trying new things whether it's visiting a new place, cooking and/or eating crazy cuisine, or DIY projects, we're constantly pushing each other to expand our horizons. We're both easy going and love ideas for new experiences, as long as it doesn't involve heights, we're probably willing and eager.

PHILOSOPHY

Stay open minded. Everyone is unique, try to avoid judgement. There's a reason people are the way they are. Exchange ideas, interact with new experiences, and always be willing to learn something new.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I first heard about this website from a friend who currently uses this website. He travels all over the country doing interviews for different fire departments, and can only afford to do so by couch surfing. He highly recommended I make a profile and check it out. So, with no experience I am excited to partake on some adventures of my own!

Training dogs to successfully operate a Wendys, attempts to res-erect our boy Ben Franklin, reenactments of The Battle of Bull Run, building space ships, you know, the usual.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a big fan of Quentin Tarantino and Guy Ritchie films, and thought provoking or funny movies.

I enjoy all types of music. I used to read a lot of Dean Koontz books, but now all the books I read are usually about the fire service.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's so hard to pinpoint one "most amazing thing" if you look for them, you can encounter powerful moments every day. But some big ones are; whale watching, horseback riding into the ocean, seeing Sagrada Familia, saving a life, falling in love, skiing in Heavenly, being sworn into the fire service, owning my dream motorcycle, catching a fish (sounds silly but it's exciting every time!)
