About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Current mission? I appear to have found the spy assessment part of the test!

ABOUT ME

I'm 36 years old, and a professional nerd by trade. I have been making games for 20 years, and love every moment of what I do.

I am a sociable creature, I prefer to eat out or have take away than eat in, but I'm actually a decent cook if I have enough of a reason!

I love to meet new people, and learn new things from them. I had a bucket list, filled most of it, but now I'm finding that there wont be nearly enough days for me to see and do everything I should experience in my short time on this planet.

That's not going to stop me trying though.

PHILOSOPHY

It's mathematically impossible that I'm here at all. (Human conception is a harsh numbers game when broken down, and if you multiply that by your parent's odds of being born, meeting, having a relationship and being lucky enough to have you thats a massive long shot! The, multiply that by, both sets of grandparents doing the same thing, and repeat all the way down to your family tree roots, compounded by it being this moment in time, being in these places, having this technology etc etc etc, then my typing, and you reading this, shouldn't happen at all! The odds that brought you, or I, here to these very words are smaller than winning every lottery in the world, on the same day, twice!)
It's even more impossible that my being here results in meeting you! (People on the planet x People on the planet (because everybody can potentially meet anybody else!) x Going to a new country x person you meet being in that place at that time? It's a miracle you're just reading this! Let alone possibly meeting the person who wrote it!)

So, if we've all managed to do the impossible before we get out of bed each day, just by waking up, then anything else we want to do is easy and everybody else we meet is doing the impossible with us.

Which is a pretty brilliant reason for a celebration whenever you meet somebody new!

And thus ends the debate on 'if we should go to the pub?'. Yes, you should if you want to, purely because you can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I tend to act on instinct rather than over think things, and prefer noise and activity to quiet contemplation.
Unless I have a hangover, then reverse all of the above!

If somebody is being loud in a bar telling a possibly inappropriate joke, chances are it's me...

I currently have some friends from the UK over, who where so impressed with my humble abode they suggested I should sign up here, so here I am!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None! I'm a couch surfing virgin!

Interests

Lots... Far to many to list! Games, Sports, Books, music, technology, travel, history, languages, people. Actually, I'll end there! People fascinate me, and the more of them I can meet, the brighter my life will be! (Even the douchebags!)

I am also a SFX Make Up Artist in my spare time, which means I can take Halloween pretty seriously! :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love lots of things... And lots and lots! Hate Horror movies (The people who die are always making the stupid choices, so I tend to root for the bad guy!) But don't mind anything else!

Love reading, pretty much anything I can find I'll give a try and I have an eclectic selection of musical favourites!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've travelled a lot, and seen plenty. But I prefer to talk about those things in conversation rather than try and pick a 'top 10 things to boast about' . That would demean the other fantastic experiences I've had home and away.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy meeting different people from all walks of life. Listening to other peoples aims, dreams and achievements as it gives me more ideas of things I'd like to do!

I don't get ruffled easily, I tend to find myself comfortable in most situations, but (as you may have noticed from the profile!) I can also ramble on if I feel passionate about something :)
