About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To make this world a better and happier place
ABOUT ME
Hi there! I am a local Kuching guy. Personality-wise, I am an eclectic mix of cheery, accommodating, laid-back, organised, messy, serious and fun-loving all rolled into one :-)
I am a supporter of equality, and I abhor all forms of discrimination.
### PLEASE READ CAREFULLY ###

PHILOSOPHY
I believe that all of us can make a difference to make the world a better and happier place to live in.
I also believe that money and work are merely means to an end; they are not the end itself. I am disdainful of the "rat race"!
Finally, I believe that the world has enough resources for everyone who lives in it. The problem is... we humans have not been properly managing those resources!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I first came to know about Couchsurfing from my workmate way back in 2007. However, it was only from Oct 2012 onwards that I became more involved in it :-)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted 13 couchsurfers so far (as of 30.6.2014). Most of them have written References. Please refer below for further details :-)
Each couchsurfing experience is as unique as the couchsurfers themselves. Aside from the obvious savings couchsurfing brings, the other (more important) benefits are the opportunity to make friends, share experiences, visit places and simply live life like the local people do :-)
Interests
In my normal spare time, I surf the internet, read books, listen to music, watch TV, do gardening, play with my pets, cook, meet friends, go shopping, run errands, laze around... and perhaps host some couchsurfers!
I love nature - jungles, mountains, beaches, etc. If you're into hiking, I may take you to some of the local spots to explore!
When I have extra time and money, I will travel out of Kuching to do sightseeing, shopping and (possibly) meeting other couchsurfers!

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite band of all time has got to be... ABBA! Their music is simply timeless :-) I like country music too.
I love books, and I have plenty of them in the house! My favourite subjects currently are: architecture, arts & crafts, cookery, culture, history, home & garden, music, nature, pets, relationships, travel
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Far-flung places facinate me.
One of these places I've been to is Stewart Island, New Zealand. On my last night there, I remember standing near the edge of a cliff at 10pm in the midst of summer, with hardly anyone in sight, watching the setting sun just about to disappear behind the horizon, the crisp Southern wind blowing in my face, marvelling at the powerful surf breaking below, hearing the call of sea birds in the air, and knowing that that place was one of the most remote and peaceful places on earth... the experience was unforgettable and the feeling was simply amazing - almost spiritual :-)
