Bakashaba JohnBosco is my name, Iam an Agriculturalist by occupation/profession, an adult male and a Ugandan by nationality. I am a focused, result oriented, self-driven and flexible environmentalist with a great passion for environment and with practical experience managing environmental sustainability projects, farmers’ association projects, implementing food security and nutrition projects and agricultural livelihoods projects.

Currently,Iam implementing a Tree Planting Project; mainly focuses on teaching teachers, parents, pupils and surrounding communities to plant trees in schools and neighbouring communities for environmental protection as pupils and community members learn to manage natural resources in a sustainable manner.RUDEFO also builds the capacity of the communitiesin planting trees and maintaining forest cover to maximize their livelihood generation.

It also invests in raising awareness on global warming in order to motivate people to recognize the need to plant trees as a mitigation measure. The tree planting campaign further endeavors to enhance the knowledge and skills among pupils and communities to understand the significance of forests and its products by supporting teachers and pupils to visit forests and acquire knowledge on how they can freely interact by getting raw materials and maintaining the interdependence for biodiversity conservation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To network with different people around the world most especially for people in Poland because am preparing to travel to Poland to attend The UN climate summit, i.e. so called COP (Conference of the Parties) a global conference, in the course of which action for climate policy is negotiated.

In the course of the 2018 Climate Summit, Poland would like to demonstrate how neutrality in terms of greenhouse gas emissions, i.e. a balance between CO2 emissions and its sequestration by soils and forests, can be attained.

COP24 will take place from 3-14 December 2018, in Katowice, Poland. This is the main reason am on Couchsurfing to get friends that can give me accommodation during my stay in Poland from 3-14 December 2018.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have trained 960 Climate Justice Ambassadors in Uganda who are tasked to spread the crusade/movement/campaign on the fight against Climate change to other children and to the people in the communities; by being excellent through caring for the environment and to participate in the noble cause of promoting climate justice through tree planting.

Teach, Learn, Share

Iam able to teach how to make a tree nursery bed, am willing to learn how to fund raise for the projects Iam implementing in Uganda and a ready to share the stories about our culture and climate here in Uganda.
