Hi my name is John and I live in a little town called Calitzdorp in the Western Cape province, South Africa. I believe I am really a traveller at heart although I honestly don't get to do as much (International) travel as I would like to.

I'm a friendly, easy going guy (or so people say) and love meeting people from all over the world. My dream is to go somewhere new every year and experience the rest of the world in all it's glory :)

I work for myself from a little office at home - broadly speaking I am a designer (graphic,online etc) and marketing consultant but I am always trying new business ventures (so I kind of hate that question since it is so hard to describe exactly what I do hehehe).

I have actually been a member for a long time but as I mentioned I have not been able to travel as much I would like. My priorities have changed radically in the last two years and I truly hope to become not only an active host but also a host to people from all over the world. I LOVE my beautiful country and hope I will be able to share a bit of it with all my future visitors.

I am planning to do as much travel as I can going ahead so hopefully I will meet some of you in my future adventures while exploring your countries!

I have varied interests but I am a pretty creative soul. I love people and love learning what I can from those around me. I am a HUGE music fan and will probably always have some form of music around me. Food and good wine, architecture, exploring the outdoors or learning new customs. Whatever it is - I am open minded and trying to live a life of learning, love and gratitude.

Musica, film e libri

Music is almost impossible for me to define. I love almost all genres and decades of music. I have a bit of a special affinity for music from the 80s - 2000s but like I said I am into all types of styles.

Also love movies and similarly my taste is vary varied. I do love old movies and the occasional cheesy horror. Why not? :)

I don't get to read as much I would like to (usually when I am on holiday I will read quite a bit) but I like period/historical type stuff or biographies/autobiographies.

I have had the privilege to experience many amazing things but in the last 2 years I think moving from a big city to the country has really been so rewarding. I live a simple but happy life surrounded by nature, family and inspiration.

I love learning more about other countries and cultures but I also love getting to know people and their stories. I am not sure if I can really "teach" anyone anything but perhaps in sharing our stories there is something I can leave people with.
