About Me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To open doors of opportunity for myself and others around the world while exploring new places and ways of thinking on the cheap.
Music, Movies, and Books
Any music with a great beat that gets me groovin'. Some go-to artists are The Avett Brothers, Paul Simon, Leon Bridges, and Vampire Weekend. Latin music is a sure fire way to get me off my feet.
Reading is a true passion, and I love stories in particular. Favorite genres are fantasy, crime, and travel writing. My go-to recommendation is The Alienist by Caleb Carr, a historical-fiction novel about a team put together to track an elusive serial killer.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
While backpacking through Taiwan with friends, we came across a town just as they were taking part in a festival for the indigenous Taiwanese. We laughed, danced, ate and drank with the indigenous villagers all day. Later that night we attended a hot air balloon christening ceremony of sorts, and I was pulled out to sing What's Up by 4 Non Blondes when the local band hear me belting it out with them.
Teach, Learn, Share
Happy to teach what I know, learn what I don't, and share what I have
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love talking life, and would love to hear about your experiences and perspectives. I'd enjoy hanging out and can teach you some Texas two-step dancing and a couple card games, but am also comfortable going off on my own if you're busy. Also, I enjoy cooking and baking bread, so I'll happily make you a meal or two.
