About Me
CURRENT MISSION
capture the world, place by place, story by story, person by person, in my heart, my memory, my camera
ABOUT ME
Let's see, I usually hate these sorts of questions in interviews because I never am quite sure what to say. I was born in Cali, Colombia, in the year 1992. Two years later I became a miracle baby when I survived dengue hemorrhagic fever. I learned how to read at age four, and it has since transformed my life because I want to devote myself how cultures, social movements, ideas, and phenomena are captured within the written word. I also want to become a writer, but only after I've developed a deep enough understanding of the world, how it works, how its people interact with each other, their environment, with themselves.
I moved to the United States with my mother at age seven, which was probably the biggest event in my life. I attend the University of Georgia, majoring in English and International Development (a self-tailored interdisciplinary study in Anthropology, International Affairs, and Economics). Currently, though, I am in Northeast Brazil studying the effects of drought on the life of the rural worker. In about two weeks, I hope to begin a journey through South America.
I'm generally outgoing, adventurous, energetic, whimsical, spontaneous, but also responsible, reliable, loyal, and caring, although sometimes I can be timid and quiet. I believe that like any other human being, I go through a range of emotions in any given day, but one of my favorite feelings is the excitement that comes from meeting someone new!
PHILOSOPHY
Be yourself but adapt yourself to new surroundings; never be afraid to break language and culture boundaries, we are united by our humanity, by feelings of love and community

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was in Brazil, and got on a bus, headed to the centro; I spoke little Portuguese and it was like I was discovering the new world. Being left on your own and talking to others in a different language is the best adventure.
I also saw the sunset in Jericoacoara. It was honestly one of the most inspiring views of my life.
