About Me

ABOUT ME

very easy going, flexible around social situations, speak bad (!) spanish, portuguese and japanese. Would like to work on my German a bit more and one day add some Russian. I love learning both languages and cultures, what's new, what's different.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to take a holiday where I can see some of the great sights and avoid some of the tourist traps. Ways to improve my holiday often can be found by talking with a local and i'm getting better at asking questions so I can really have a great time! Any advice for things a little off the beaten track or that a local would recognise ("you gotta try this!") will be warmly received. The cost and efficiency of staying with a local is a win win, so hopefully I can share and help you with what I can offer (either in Australia or around the world)!

Interests

Like outdoor activities, play a lot of soccer, dance salsa. i work for a bank so happy to get out and see the world any time I have the chance. Rest of the time i would spend reading or working, reading I tend to be more interested in older books.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books I like these authors Kazuo Ishiguro, Leo Tolstoy, Fyodor Dostoevsky, James Joyce, Tom Robbins and have recently read "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" a book that it turns out to be quite interesting talking around the subject and by doing so gets directly at it with a really personal ending, "The Art of Learning" by Josh Waitzkin - the guy is so self aware in a productive way it is wonderful to read, I learned so much from reading this, in addition to improving how i learn, "The Brothers Karamazov" I love how Russian writers have those characters who are a bit eccentric, think outside of the square and ask "why not?!" great inspiration for travel. Movies I liked Interstellar as a sensory experience, Tropic Thunder - did Robert Downey Jr really just play that character??! as well as other Ben Stiller movies (Zoolander - "I can't turn left!!") , The Beat that My Heart Skipped has a great balance between pieces of classical music and the tougher side of trying to make it as a performing artist, plus a great sountrack. The Office (UK) TV series and Family Guy are also up there on the always happy to watch list :)
