Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I am hoping to connect with peeps from all over the world and learn a little bit of something new from each of them.
ABOUT ME
I love to experience life and new things, especially foods. While I like doing new and crazy things, I generally think about what I am going to do before doing so. Yet fortunately (and occasionally unfortunately) somewhere in my genes, there also lies plenty of spontaneity.
PHILOSOPHY
Live life and love it. No regrets but try to be responsible yet forgive oneself and others when imperfect. Leave the place you last stood better than when you arrived. Be happy in general and appreciate sad times.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I jump in and try learn and share. I do my best to understand and respect peoples' expectations, though I have learned what is common sense is not actually common sense, so learning and growing from these human interactions is a life goal, blessing and challenge. I hope to foster relationships and share my knowledge and experiences.
I sometimes have not understood cultural differences well enough and found out that it is probably better to be more conservative in behavior to avoid misunderstandings. I do my best to treat everyone with respect, so please let me know when you feel something I have said or done is not respecting you or your culture. Every day is a day to learn and grow~
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am grateful to have started "official" CSing with several Couchsurfing experiences in Taiwan. Before that, I had many unofficial stays in Asia and the US where I found myself sleeping on beds, couches, or floors of people I didn't know for more than a few hours or days before. Basically, people are kind and awesome and I hope to share the love. I have now been hosting for about 2 years and it's been great to give back.
I realize more and more that I lack a full understanding of other cultures and customs around the world and though I sadly have made mistakes while meeting people from new places, I am grateful to learn from these experiences so I can be a better respecter of cultures and people from all around the world. I hope you can help me better learn how people live in your countries and cultures and teach me how to best interact with people from your home country.

Music, Movies, and Books
Emperor's New Groove. Most any animation. Soft rock from the 90s, classical music, various kinds of foreign music. Too many books to list but a few are The Little Prince, His Dark Materials Trilogy, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hmm... Nothing too amazing but sleeping up on Ulsan Bawi with a Red Cross Rescue Aide I had just met that day. He and I slept in a two-man (hence a 3/4 man) tent which was wedged between the rocks of the cliff to keep us from plummeting hundreds of feet. Then probably the volunteer work out in South Korea.
