it will take me several weeks to come up with a good spontaneous answer. will adjust this section later. for now, I am a man, a widower, a father, a grandfather, a brother, an uncle. am not as good a person as I'd like to be, but seem to be acceptable to those referenced above.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

will play it by ear and see how it develops. will probably do more hosting than surfing, at least for the present. the reason I say "maybe" on couch availability is, although we have a spare bedroom with its own bath, our location is quite rural and not very accessible.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

have just joined, but my first contact was a very pleasant email exchange with someone with whom I'll have a rum punch in Nassau later this month.

Interests

anything to do with the sea. in three years time, I intend to be the oldest person to sail across the Atlantic single-handed.

when I was in my twenties I could have taught everyone anything, but as I've aged, I realize how little I know and how little I can teach, I hope to learn more than teach. perhaps I can share some memories. could teach celestial navigation, if anyone is interested.
