ABOUT ME

I'm in a very loving and stable relationship with my Netflix account. Geek and proud. Definitely not a vegan (give them to us raw and wriggling). Every single sorting test I've ever taken said Slytherin and I've taken a few (including about like ten on Pottermore). I'm now embracing that part of me. I'm a very open-minded person except for when it comes to people who try to steal my food (I'm also very easy to bribe with food though). I make a pretty good Old Fashioned.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I don't travel half as much as I want to but I'd like to change that and what better way is there to get to know a city than through the people who live there, right?

I have hosted people while studying abroad in Ireland though. My housemate there was a very active couchsurfer and intruduced the rest of us to the community. We always had a lot of fun and now I'd like to continue hosting and surfing myself.

Interests

I've always loved stories so books and films are two of my favourite things. At some point I've started making up my own and if I'm lucky maybe I'll publish a book or write a screenplay one day. The writing things works best after the third cup of coffee, by the way. I love to cook, bake and eat (and drink) and I love discovering new things. I also share my home (and occasionally my food, but that's mostly involuntarily) with my four furry friends who you can read more about in the 'home' section.

Music, Movies, and Books

The nicest mornings are the ones where I wake up to my flatmate playing piano in the next room. If you're very lucky, you'll get to experience that while you're here. I listen to a lot of music and it would probably be easier to ask me what I don't like, than asking what's my favourite. It really depends on my mood and the day of the week but at the moment my top song on Spotify is Soldier by Fleurie. Same thing with books and movies though nothing will ever top the Harry Potter book series and what it made me feel over the years. Those stories and character have been with my for most of my life and even now I can still open those books on a bad day and come home. My favourite movie has been Captain America: The Winter Soldier for quite some time now, however the Iron Man and the Star Wars films are definitely up there in the top ten too, as well at the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Yes I'm a geek, no I have no shame. Oh, and Ex Machina gets a special menion because that screenplay was amazing and I want to be Alex Garland when I grow up.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I slayed my very own personal dragon by climbing a mountain even though I'm afraid of heights.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you weird words in German and how to fit the maximum amount of cheese on a pizza.
I want to learn about you and your country. I'm always collecting new recipes so if you have something you love to make and think I should learn how to make please teach me!
I can share many cups of tea and coffee (you will get your own cup though. i do not really share my own coffee) and a plethora of geek trivia facts that you might not want to hear about after all.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My city on a budget. Being a student myself I know places that are beautiful and free that maybe you wouldn't necessarily have heard of as well as great places where you can eat amazing food that are quite inexpensive.
