About Me

Just moved and am unable to host for the time being. Sorry fam. 😢

I grew up in Upstate, NY (right on the Canada border) and lived there until I graduated High School. From there I moved to Monterey, CA and went to school for Korean. I fell in love with the challenge of learning another language/culture and moved to South Korea for 2 years. That's where I fell in love for traveling and got my first passport. After moving from KR, I lived in Hawaii for about three years. Hawaii felt like a good medium between "living abroad" but still having all the commodities of home. I'm currently taking a break from paradise and living in Monterey, CA again to learn Chinese.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As most people in here, I love traveling and meeting new people. No two people's stories are the exact same and that's what makes you interesting. I'm always down to drink a brewski and talk story.

Interests

Traveling and seeing the world and new cultures is my number 1. Grew up snowboarding, dirt biking, hiking and camping. I've tried surfing in Hawaii but have a love/hate relationship with it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is medicine, therefore it's hard to pick a "favorite" genre. I like Trap when I'm trying to get pumped for adventure and Reggae when I'm chilling at the house smoking a hookah. Read mostly non-fiction and watch documentaries. Most recent book was 'Buddha Walked Into a Bar'.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-Learning a foreign language (most rewarding)
-Swam with sharks and skydiving in Hawaii
-Attended Full Moon Party in Koh Phagnan, Thailand
-Stayed on Tioman Island, Malaysia & Gili T, Indonesia (favorite places)
-Certified Scuba diver
-A monkey stole my friend's water bottle once and drank it, so we re-filled it with salt water and let him steal it again. He proceeded to freak out on us.
-Walked up an active volcano and photographed the flowing lava

Teach, Learn, Share

I've learned more traveling than I have in any formal education setting. If you have any questions about any of the places I've been, feel free to ask.

Countries I’ve Visited
