ABOUT ME
(j'suis trop paresseux de traduire en français tous ce que je dis en-dessous, désolé...)
I'm not sure what to include here, honestly. Detached self-descriptions like this always feel weird. What do you want to hear? The basics? Well...
I'm 23;
I'm American;
I currently live in Chicago, with plans to move back to France (or somewhere else in Europe) within the next couple years to pursue a masters degree.
Even though it's true, I hesitate to say that I'm "friendly and easygoing" because I'm not sure that a more generic description of a person exists. But there you have it, I'm friendly and easygoing. Fun fact: my last name actually derives from a Dutch word that means "cheerful/agreeable," so generic or not, you could say that it's in my blood!
I'm definitely the creative type. I write poetry, and I'm a lover of art in virtually every form.
If moving abroad has shown me anything, it's that I thrive on change. There's always new people to meet, new countries to visit, new things to do and see and learn -- that's a pretty facile sentiment, but I mean it!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Like everyone else, to travel and meet cool/interesting people along the way!

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't really label the things I like; if it's good, I like it, if it's bad, I don't. But I guess more than anything else, I like things that make me think.
I read a lot of poetry and random essays I find online. Fiction tends to bore me; I'm not sure why.
I love a good variety in my music, though I'm not usually one to want to go nuts at a concert; I'd rather sit in a comfy booth at a bar with a live jazz quartet instead.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can help you practice your English or French; I can reach things on the top shelf; I like to think I'm fun to talk to.
