CURRENT MISSION
Graduate school, climbin' mountains
ABOUT ME
Hello folks. I'm a student from NC, living out here in Wyoming. I've spent the past couple years traveling and working in Spain, upstate New York, and Alaska before deciding to do some more schoolin'. Now I'm trying to balance academia and climbing, taking the occasional time out to pick guitar or go out on the town.
PHILOSOPHY
There's a Mark Vonnegut quote that goes "We're here to help each other through this thing, whatever it is." I try to adhere to that.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've had great experiences both surfing, especially in South America, and hosting, especially in Spain. I've been floating around lately but having recently settled down I'm looking to extend the hospitality I've been offered elsewhere to anyone who happens to pass through Laramie, and potentially crash on someones couch (maybe in Colorado somewhere?) on future mountaineering escapades.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
They've been great thus far. I've been treated to wine and asados in Argentina, taken folks on tours of Ávila, met entertaining and bright people... It's been pleasant all around.
Interests
I'm interested in playing outside, reading good books, having good conversations, drinking good beer, playing music, hearing and telling bad jokes, sunsets, and brief walks on the beach

Music, Movies, and Books
Henry Miller, Hemingway, Vonnegut, Mark Twain, Cormac McCarthy, Beat writers and poets, Issac Asimov, Margaret Atwood, a bunch of folks, and all sorts of music especially blues, jazz, and rock and roll. As far as movies I like Manhattan, pretty much anything by the Coen Brothers, Spaghetti Westerns, biopics, tons of stuff.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ah man, the most awestruck moment I've had was overlooking the southern ice field in Chilean Patagonia after a long day of breaking ice floes in a kayak. It was absolutely, jaw droppingly, stunning. My buddy and I just hugged eachother and then stood there for like, 20 minutes, mouths agape.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm happy to take folks climbing at Vedauwoo or hiking/skiing in the Snowies weather dependent. I could teach you a few hot guitar licks and share a vast and dense library of political science literature if that piques your interest. I'd be excited to learn whatever you're stoked to teach.
