Overview
About Me
Hi! I'm Joie and I'm trying to explore as many places as possible in this short adventure we call life. I'm someone who can go out to dinner, drink and have a good time but still get up to see the sunrise and go on a morning hike. I love to learn about new cultures, talk about my own experiences, and eat all the foods! I've traveled through Japan, Germany, Finland, and the Netherlands by myself and met lots of nice cs people while doing so!
Not a huge partier, happy to enjoy beers in a park or something :) I also prefer group hangouts!

Music, Movies, and Books
Always open to listen to new music! My music taste depends on my mood, but lots of indie, R&B and some rap. Will always love Studio Ghibli films and documentaries.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sunrise yoga on a beach in Mexico. The sounds, the feelings, and the view were incredible. I also tried to communicate with a man from Mexico City through my broken Spanish and his broken English. It was quite fun as we enjoyed the sunrise together.
Traveled through Osaka & Kyoto, Japan by myself during cherry blossom season and was able to see the amazing history and culture there bathed in a gentle breeze of pink petals.
Explored Munich, Berlin, Helsinki, Tallinn, Amsterdam, and Rotterdam by myself. Favorite memory there is 3 hours of public transit to hike through the Finnish National Forest followed by trespassing an under-construction dock to reach Sompsauna, a rowdy public sauna where I sang and laughed and jumped into the Baltic Sea with strangers.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to learn more recipes and get to know the language of the country I'm visiting. I consider myself a "forever student" so I'm forever learning from others.
I can teach you basic Chinese, origami, yoga, pilates, some card games, or about life in the States.
I can share my experiences growing up between cultures (US vs Chinese culture), my travel experiences, and any business acumen I've managed to pick up in my studies.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Laughter, stories, music, meals... Can also give you my recommendations of the places I've traveled! If you'd like I can bring you snacks from where I'm living.
