ABOUT ME

Even before we met, my husband from Quebec and I, from France loved travelling, it's the best school, it's the LIFE's school. It's amazing, we learn so much travelling!

Before we met, during almost ten years, my husband used to work a few months and leave for the rest of the year, backpacking, to discover new parts of the world.
As to me, I went to a few destinations but when I was 28 years old, I got to a point where I had to leave to understand what I was doing with my life. I decided to go on a trip around the world for a year and a half with a friend. That's how we met, We've been together since then, it's been 37 years. We now have three kids, who are adults and also have this passion for travelling.

My husband and I have been retired for 11 years and we're enjoying every minute of it! It's great to have the opportunity to go back to a travelling way of life! We kept the way we used before to travel, just backpacking. Big all included hostel packages are just not for us, because we know what travelling really means. We love meeting people in authentic situations. We've met amazing people and found true friendships on the road. We have a lot of projects for the next years.
Traveling one year through Central America we completely fell in love with Guatemala, its colors, its people, its culture, and its breathtaking landscapes. We spent most of our time on the banks of the Atitlan lake, lost between volcanoes, in a small village called San Pedro. We met amazing people, experienced deep connections, and really feel that we now, belong to this beautiful place, where we built a new part of our lives few months each year !
We want to learn, see, hear, taste, feel as much as we can! We want to keep travelling, making everyday unique!

We always try to find ways to help while we're travelling, to make the world a better place. I participed from time to time in a volontary association, Vision Guatemala, helping the poorest women of Guatemala around lake Atitlan . I learn a lot of it.

PHILOSOPHY

Do for everyone what I'd like them to do for me with respect, friendship, sharing, keeping an opening mind.
Never say never . Getting the more oportunities the world offers to me . Realize the more experiences we can in this life, leaving fears.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It's an amazing opportunity to open our door, our heart and our mind!
By travelling it's the best way to understand the reality of the country and to meet and know people from the places .

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

For a long time we have mostly had unformal couchsurfing experiences. My husband and I have travelled a lot, met people on the way, hosted and been hosted. Since couchsurfing, we have hosted a few times and have been hosted few times too travelling
We've got new really good friends by this way . It was awesome !

Centres d'intérêt

I am vegetarian. We try to be as environmentally friendly as we can be. We love nature and authenticity, we love people, we love life.

Retired, travelling is for us, now, a new way of life.

Travels, listening music, playing paraguayan harp, spirituality, photography, reading, sculpture, gym, walking through the nature places and so many things more ...
I've discovered the paraguayan harp and I started to learn this wonderful instrument . I love it.

I have participing in a small ONG:(Vision Guatemala) project which helps the poorest women around the Lake Atitlan ,to get micro-credits which permit them to start a small negoce to care their family and get independent . And the wonderful is that it's works so I can say: yes we can change the world with very few help of everyone ...

I love reading and I can spend a lot of time reading. My last best authors are :Anna Gavalda, Yasmina Khadra, Don Miguel Ruiz, Eckart Tolle, Alberto Villodo, and some more
My music is soft music, latina music , reggae, classic music and andina music and specialy kirtan songs .

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

1)Meeting my husband for the very first time, 37 years ago, and recognizing him at the first glance, as the love of my life.
2) Spending two months in a Kibboutz in Israel, picking up bananas, and living in a community where you loose the concept of money and owning material objects.
3) Travelling 24h|24 as a couple for a long time and finding balance.

4) Overcome some of my fears: letting a huge spider walk on my hand, melting in the harmony of the jungle, hiking up an active volcano in Guatemala and being so close to the lava that my shoes started melting!

5) Dare sharing the place with musicians in the restaurants of San Pedro(Guatemala)for the first time in my life almost at 60 years old.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I love to learn from the youngest and the oldest people I meet in my life. I'm interested in the mind's and energetic's power, in the alternative medecines like : natural, energetic and chamanic medecines.
I learnt a lot from the meeting of the women I worked with, sometimes in Guatemala .

We can share our house, when possible, our experiences of travels and life . We can spend some time together .
