I did the camino de Santiago in 2011: Nearly 1000km from St. Jean Pied du Port via Santiago de Compostela, Muxia to Finisterre. The most amazing thing happened a few days after I passed Santiago de Compostela: After one month of walking from east to west through Spain I passed a small hill and from the top, completely unexpected, I suddenly could see the Atlantic ocean. Whitecaps in the sun, the endless sea. If I have had a boat I could start sailing more west and after a few weeks I would reach Central America. Most amazing moment of the journey.
