Overview
About Me
International student graduating from the United World College of the Adriatic, where I went to school for 2 years with 185 students from 94 countries. The world has become a smaller place, and meeting people from all around the world has become integral to my social interactions.
I will be attending university in Singapore, matriculating in 2015.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
After living with an international community, meeting new people from everywhere has become second nature. Travelling whenever I can, and ready to show friends around at home in Singapore! :)
Interests
I read, I write and pretend to be intellectual.
I try to play around with photography too, so do most people I guess, pointing and shooting.
From running to climbing to martial arts to tennis and swimming. Being in Italy was amazing, I was scaling the Italian Dolomites with my school team! Teach me how to work the sport and I'm game.
I play the xylophone and other percussion instruments. I sing for choirs. I used to play for the national youth chinese orchestra in Singapore. I tried composing, but then decided I might as well stay with playing the stuff that's been written already, but striving!

Music, Movies, and Books
All kinds of music- from classical to heavy metal to blues to country to alternative pop :) I listen mostly to music in English, Mandarin and Italian.
Never felt as if I read enough to say I've read enough. But I do love classical literature and have a great fondness for modernist and post-modernist writing. Sucker for good poetry, above all.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Being in Italy off the Adriatic coast living where Rainer Maria Rilke wrote the Duino Elegies and living with 185 youths from 94 different countries for 2 years-- happens everyday, no?
Teach, Learn, Share
Always glad to share and teach the languages I've had and the books I've read, ready to tell you about my experiences living alone abroad, and nonetheless everything about the unique country of Singapore.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My experiences of being an international student, global issues that I have engaged with on my service trips to Naples and Romania during my time here. Languages, books and lots of conversations over tea or coffee!
I'll tell you stories of waking up next to a Nigerian, brushing your teeth next to a Venezuelan muchacho, having pizza with a Rwandan and speaking of Japanese comics. I'll tell you how it feels like to play soccer on the same team with another Israeli, Palestinian, Jordanian and American all at the same time. I'll tell you how my Russian classmate was the roommate of another American and best friends with the Chinese guy; I'll tell you about how my classmate from Kosovo rooms with a boy from Timor Leste, and watches movies with the Iraqi and Ugandan. I'll tell you about parties-- with Caribbeans from the Cayman Islands to Barbados and the Bahamas, and how we dance on tables altogether with the Swedish, Afghans and Iranians.
