About Me

I'm Irish but I lived in Thailand for 5years, and Australia for a year before going on an amazing trip through Latin America(Mexico to Colombia) with my Canadian boyfriend.... I've just recently moved to the fantastic Mouintain resort of Whistler in Canada and am looking forward to learning to ski and snowboard and other Canadian Winter stuff.
I can't host at the moment but I am keen to meet some fellow CSers and make some new friends here in Whistler so send me a message. :)
I like learning new languages and I really wish my Spanish was a little better but I'm hoping to take some lessons and keep improving.

I'm really easy-going, open-minded and I love getting to know people from different cultures and different walks of life. Couchsurfing while travelling has been the best and has allowed me to meet so many amazing people all over the world.

One of my favourite quotes of late came from an amazing cs host I stayed with in Australia.
"Those who travel return with different coloured eyes" I love it. It's so accurate in describing how travel opens your mind and changes your view of the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet awesome people through hosting, surfing or just hanging out. Also because I think couch surfing is one of the best things to happen to travel and socialising.

Interests

Travelling the world is something that I've always thought about and that excites me a lot. I haven't seen half as much as I would like to have seen at this point. I'm always looking for places I want to go and things I want to do/see.
I love movies, books, all kinds of music and learning new things about myself and the world. I like reading on the beach and a weekend away with friends.
I love food and any chance to try something new and love learning to cook new dishes.
I've tried Paragliding, skydiving and recently got my advanced open water certificate and loved every minute in the ocean. It's such a surreal experience.

One thing that has come out of my Thai experience is my love for languages. I want to learn them all(or at least a few more).
I'm obsessed with viewpoints, skies, sunsets, sunrises and getting high(altitude-wise)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all sorts of movies and books.
I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and have been since I was a teenager.
'Shantaram', 'Into the wild', 'Wild', 'Eat, Pray, love', 'the motorcycle diaries', Stein Larsson books and lots of others.
Reading 'Breaking the maya code' right now.
'Fear and loathing in Las Vegas' was a good read and watch.
Will Ferrell comedies, adventure and action movies. Samsara is one I always recommend to travellers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Grand Canyon.
Thailand (and everything that comes with living there)
CS Songkran Bootcamp Bangkok.
Climbed volcanoes in Indonesia.
Paragliding over haad rin Beach during full moon party.
Solo trip from Europe to Mongolia.
Milked cows in rural Australia for 3months.
Roadtrip up the east coast of Australia with my sister.
Skydived over the Queensland coast

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some Thai, Gaeilge or even help you with your English if you like.(I've been teaching for 5years)
I can also teach you how to make some basic Thai dishes(if we can find the ingredients)
I just bought a new mirrorless camera. An olympus e-m10 mark2. I love it and I'd like to learn how to take some photos manually.
Also as I've mentioned in my interests I love languages and would love to learn some of yours.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can help you learn some basic Thai.(see teach). Also, I don't mind helping out with stuff around the house while there or any projects you've got going on. It's myself and my boyfriend at the moment so double the manpower.
