关于我

CURRENT MISSION

I want to be proud of each of my wrinkles/scars :)

ABOUT ME

I'm very artsy, I'm very crafty and I'm always getting into new projects. I love learning and creating. I don't want to lose the power of awe.
I'm a performer. Started dancing ballet, moved on to salsa, and now I'm into all of those plus bachata and kizomba and whatever you're willing to teach me.
I studied Philosophy and then a Master in Art History, trying to get my Art History PhD now. My main line of research is persuasion trough images, in case you were wondering :P

Somewhere along the way I decided I would follow my mother's steps and started designing shoes. Yes, we make shoes (amarambula.calzado on ig, you should totally follow and buy some)

I believe life is too short to judge others. I'll seriously judge you if you start judging people!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've received many people in my country, and so far I've enjoyed a lot.
I've met such amazing people in México, San Diego, san Francisco, NYC, Paris and Spain that I've grown even more energy to continue surfing.

兴趣

I adore arts.. I live for dancing ANY kind of rhythm.. love design and try to find the aesthetics of everything.. I practice yoga, ballet and latin rhythms.. I love traditions.. Cant get tired of analizing architecture or music or art.. I like art books, nice people, nice food.. travelling and eating are the only stuff you take with you to the grave..
I adore dark humor.
I also love music.. Its a part of me, my dad was an opera singer
I love learning about almost everything..
I've been through quite rough times so I care less about non-productive attitudes.. I try to keep it real and simple and love to find the nice side of everyone I meet. I take it as a challenge when people seem rude and do my best to find their soft side.

音乐、电影和书籍

Music: OMG Impossible question. But ok. I love the vocal works of Vivaldi, naturally Bach and Mozart, and Tchaikovsky is one of my personal favs, but I also love listening to world music, such as Ana Alcaide, for instance, or many Kizomba artists.. Cesaria Evora, Stromae. Such a hard question.
Personal heroes: Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, Aristotle, Pina Bausch, Michail Barishnikov, etc.

Books.. OK well I almost only read Theory, so I like Philosophy of art books mostly, also Art books and stuff on iconography.
But bargain books are super interesting; old weird books, books on crafts and specially mixed media..

Movies? My life sometimes is a Lars von Trier Movie, sometimes it's a Wes Anderson one.

I also like Jan Svankmajer, Wim Wenders or Terry Gilliam

TIPS FOR A GOOD COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE:

Even when CS is amazing, I strongly recommend to have Plan A, Plan B, Plan C in case you recieve declining answers from your hosts or in case of emergency in general.. still look for hostels-- just in case locate a few in the place youre visiting..!

If you're a girl travelling alone I recommend this twice as strongly hahaha :) So far I have not got bad stories to tell but Ive been close to not so good experiences ;)

There's excellent tips on the Site's Tips section.. but I can also suggest that you spend a while talking with your host (through FB or messenger, for example)so that he can know something about you before you get to his couch! CS is about exchange.. its not only for saving your money (which is really good, saving money is good.. plus, if you save a little money you can always get your host something nice or take him out :))!!! If you stay at someone's place ask which rules you must follow; which schedule you're about to stick to.. if he needs anything from the supermarket; if you can cook your host a meal, teach him something you know.. etc! Participate, and if you percieve that your host is busy or stressed about his everyday life then just fade away and -obviously- try to bother the least possible.. :) And always bring something from your country.. Maybe its just me but I'd love to have a postcard from the country of my guests :D

Always have a prepaid phone card with you!!
Find your embassy!!
Beware of mexican SALSA--- spicyy (yummi)..!!

About teaching and sharing in general:
I can be a nice tourist guide.. I think my explanations are interesting (modest gal.. ha!) because I try to mix philosophy with art (in case they're really separated).. ideology leads culture and viceversa. However I wish I knew WAAAAY more... The more we learn the more we know we know nothing..
I can also teach you ballet. As funny as it sounds, its true.. This year I'll be finishing my 2nd year of my Dance Teaching Certificate Studies.. ouuff.. finally hehe
But we can always go salsa dancing.. Thats my wild passion haha.. (if we could catch another dance style, I would be really into it too) About sharing I can show you my photography page: I would love to take photodraphy more seriously in the future..

I can share with you my Art History Thesis, which is about Baroque Rhethorics and Mnemotechnics, tracing the classics´ (Aristote, Plato, etc) definitions and concepts in mexican baroque authors. Long story short, I analize how 18th century mexican church tried to convince their audience through horror and talking about hell and torture, not to behave behave wrongly.
I study all these concepts based on a 4.5m tall door with hundreds of little drawings of hell and torture and screaming and longing expressions
