About Me

While I'm busy studying Applied Biology, I like to meet new people. My desire to travel and explore the world makes me a bit restless, because I feel the need to be on the road an like to meet new people whenever I can. As a former au pair, I have experienced a lot of things. During my time abroad I loved to get to know people from all over the world, as there is so much I don't know yet.

A small introduction. Hi, I am a 25 year old girl with a bad case of wanderlust. My experiences as an au pair started all of this, but it has definitely gotten worse over time with my internship in New Zealand. Besides travelling and getting to know places, I also like going out for an aperitivo, a chat, a round in the city, going to the cinema or going window-shopping, attend a concert, listen to music, and so on. I also like to watch the sunset and swim in the sea, even when locals think it's way too cold (or maybe especially, because of the shocked faces). Recently got my motorcycle permit & bought my first motor. Living the life in Eindhoven with my kitten Luna by my side.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to get to know local people instead of just relying on hostels and B&B's. With CS I want to meet up with locals while solo travelling and get to know the local lifestyle. My experiences so far date mainly from Italy. The people who hosted me or met up with me, made me feel straight at home and at ease.

Interests

I like to spend my time on a lot of things. Whenever it includes good company and music, it makes it even better. Things like concerts, music, movies, shopping, swimming, spending time at the beach, reading a good book, to drink a good glass of wine or coffee, to enjoy a meal outside, or get a drink at a bar. :) Most of all, I just like to enjoy the company I keep.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music is rock/pop, and I love to go to concerts & festivals to see the artist(s) perform live. So far I have seen J-ax, Fedez, Caparezza, Emma, Giorgia and Elisa when I was in Italy (mainly at Collisioni), music I've all really much enjoyed. In my own country I'm a big fan of the rock festival called Jera On Air and go to loads of small concerts.
I also like to see a good action movie or some romantic movie in the cinema or at home, depending on my mood.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Trying to not be afraid to feel misplaced makes me step out of my comfort zone more while travelling on my own. This led to a great 2-day hike in NZ or spending a night out on the streets in Genova. The best things are moment's I've shared with (new) friends.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm able to share my way of living with you, as I have lived abroad several years in Italy & New Zealand. I have learned to let things happen and just get along with how things go, instead of getting frustrated or worried about it. I also like to teach others about appreciating the little things, instead of taking them for granted.
Besides this, I can also teach you something in my own language (Dutch) or in English, as I speak multiple languages. I also speak a bit of Italian (which I love to improve, I'm almost up to level B1) & some German (as it is related to my mother-tongue), as long as you don't mind the bad grammar in both cases.
