CURRENT MISSION

I am starting my 'marathon around the world' in aid of UK Air Ambulance in May 2011. I want to meet great people and I need to save as many pennies along the way to try and make as much as i can for the charity. I will be running over 351 miles!

ABOUT ME

I hate this bit!!! About me? Right, well... I dont have any enemies so i guess that means i'm an all round good egg!
I love to run, cycle, climb, hop, skip and jump! I love exploring and when i travel i like to do what the locals do. (as well as a little bit of touristyness!)
I work very hard and i have been in my current employment for nine years... I just need some time out to find out what else is out there.
So... I thought i should travel and in doing so i want to give something back so i'm setting myself and charity challenge which means i need to visit 26 countries and i'll be running in each one totally to over 351 miles by the end of it!!! www.runfortheirlife.co.uk is where it's all at!
I need to save as much as i can along the way so that i can get to each country but i also want a new way of meeting new people that would be able to give me 'local' advice on where to visit, what to do etc.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Im traveling the world right now for at least three years so as much as I can't offer a couch, I sure have stories to tell!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have some couch surfing experience and I have to say that I have loved it every time.
If i stay with you on your couch... I make a mean cup of tea... and i'm a pretty good cook!
I'm very tidy and I have a lot of respect for other peoples belonging and space as i know how hard it is to achieve a stable home.

Interests

Anything that is new! I love to push my boundaries and experience new things in life.
Extreme sports that don't involve sharks!
Running, cycling, swimming, surfing (not that im much good at that!)

stupid funny movies... NOTHING scary... especially the ones where the travellers get kidnapped and murdered!!!
I love most music and I read just about anything as long as it grabs me within the first chapter.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

WOW, big question!!!
In every country i have travelled, there has always been something that has made me say 'ooooooooooooooooo'!
But if I have to name one thing.. It would have been my day in Canada when i climbed a mountain, had a snow ball fight at the top, rolled back down, went skydiving later that day followed by being frightened by a bear in the evening!!!
Also, watching the sun rise over Santiago in Chile was pretty spectacular. The mountains turned blue and the mist separated the city scape from the Andes... Pretty amazing to watch nature divide the natural from the man made.
Summiting the Rinjani Volcano in Lombok. It was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. Good times.

Teach, Learn, Share

Basic self defence is something that i use daily in my place of work and without doubt it has saved my life in the past. If i can help at least one other person defend themselves then i will be happy.
If someone wants to brush up on their English, then of course, it goes without saying, that i would be happy to give them the time.
