About Me

**For the moment we are unable to host, but we would love to meet up with families who are traveling.**

Please read thoroughly before requesting. I only accept people who have taken the time to fill out their profiles and are actively in the Couschsurfing community and verified. As I have my 10yo son, I need to worry about his safety. Small families are welcome to stay with us.

CURRENT MISSION

Pursuing my dreams, raising my son as a single mom and taking every day one step at a time

ABOUT ME

Traveler, dreamer, student, teacher, passionate, educated, conversant, spiritual, hospitable, eager, movie nerd, wine lover and sharer.

Now living in Mexico City after 11 years living in Lima, Peru and working as a coach helping people develop their strengths and apply them both professionally and personally. I'm especially dedicated to raising a Strengths-Based Generation and have now published 3 books in the Practical Strengths Series, which are also being translated into Arabic, Mandarin, Portuguese, and Spanish.

PHILOSOPHY

Learn from the past, live for today, plan for the future.
Everything is either a blessing or a lesson.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I was more active in the States, I had predominantly been a host (I had at least 1-2 surfers per month). I have used CS in Ecuador and Uruguay for staying and meeting out for coffees; I have had only pleasant experiences. I do contribute, when I can, financially and try to participate in our local gatherings - though not as often as I'd like. I have also turned on several others to the experience and preach the good word of CS whenever it finds its way into conversation.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, I have mostly had the pleasure of hosting and have made some amazing friends. I always seem to find fortune in the generosity of others when I travel, whether an impromptu tour of the location, dinner, drinks or with invitations to stay for a night or even a week. I always do my best to pay it forward as well. I loved showing others what a great city Louisville was and convinced two people to move there as a result of their experience - and had another who comes back regularly to visit! While in Lima, my now ex-husband was not a fan of the idea so I had to leave it for the last several years - well, no more!! I'm a single mom and totally able to receive people again.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Macchu Picchu. Absolutely a marvel. But not only was I there, I was able to spend the entire night inside the ruins, under only the light of the full moon and the stars illuminating the amazing site. I was with only one other person who decided to enjoy the majestic energy of the evening. Our morning was followed by another special treat - the moon setting, the sun rising and an enormous rainbow over our heads, all together, the main gods of the Incas to bless us.

Teach, Learn, Share

I ran a dining club in Louisville, Bon Vivant Savant, and then decided to leave the States in 2010. After living in Uruguay for a bit (Nov '10 - Mar '11), I moved to Lima, where I lived for 11 years and gained citizenship. I have now been in Mexico City since Feb of 2022 and plan to be here for awhile. I love cooking for fun, wines, and of course, talking about anything strengths related.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook, share travel tips and would be happy to exchange coaching for a place to stay.
