About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To move back home to Vermont! I miss you green mountains, and friends of Burlington and Mad River Valley. It is good to be back.

ABOUT ME

Yeah Couchsurfing! I've been hearing about this for a long time and here I am. So. I am a young guy in search of new places to go and things to do. I joined while exploring Puerto Rico about 5 years ago, now back on to meet others, and score a warm spot for a random night before getting into my apartment. The past 2 years have been the longest I've been in one place; Oregon. Beautiful, great hiking and farming, decent music scene. But its time to get home and settle in! This was to be my vacation from farming in Oregon, but business went south so I have decided to stay and get on my feet. I consider myself a low impact person, and love meeting people from all walks of life.

PHILOSOPHY

Remain always optimistic. Laugh often. Embrace good things. Be strong, empowered, grateful, compassionate, and have a good ear for the stories of others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I feel a bit guilty about joining the community as of right now I don't live anywhere in particular. I am in the process of moving back to Vermont, getting back on my feet from a business venture I lost faith in out in Oregon. This is the first time I have been on couchsurfing in four years! So bits of my profile may be a tad outdated, and silly. But thats ok. Just looking to meet people, occasionally have a warm place if needed, then so happy to accomodate others once I get a place in town. Fingers crossed! It will all comes together, as it always does.

Music, Movies, and Books

Shantaram, Tao Te Ching, The Way of the Peaceful Warrior, The Monkey Wrench Gang, Desert Solitaire, Siddhartha, Dances with Wolves, The Tracker, The Celestine Prophecy, The Teachings of Don Juan, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Beach.....all great books I would recommend to any adventurous, or spiritually inclined soul.
I love going to see music whenever possible! Had a great time living near Burlington Vt this past summer. Bands I've seen more or less recently include Galactic, String Cheese Incident, Yonder Mountain String Band, Umphreys Mcgee, Badfish, Moe., DJ Logic, Lucas Nelson, Perpetual Groove, and then a bunch of great bands at the Gathering of the Vibes! Long live Bob Weir and Taj Mahal.
Also way into reggae, classic rock, and bluegrass/folk. Currently jammin out to Peter Tosh.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love teaching others to kayak during the summers in Vermont. The rivers there, as well as in NH, are incredible. I also enjoy leading snowshoe or nordic tours in the winter wherever I am, and have ski coached as well.
Some of my favorite past times are bagging peaks in the White Mountains with friends from high school, and backcountry touring in Colorado.
I plan to learn more about wilderness survival, tracking, hunting, and living in balance with the earth.
