About Me
***Surprised that this needs to be stated, but I keep getting requests. Due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we're currently not accepting guests.***
I'm a born and raised Winnipegger and I'm more into wildlife than nightlife, but I definitely need to have some balance of both. Going on hikes, camping, or anything outdoors is my favourite, but I'm also very much into the local music shows, trying out new foods and restaurants. I'm an avid gardener and food preserver in the summer, year round cyclist, lover of books, crosswords, birdwatching, and challenging myself to do new things.
My partner Katherine, and I own a home near downtown Winnipeg and have a small spare bedroom that we'd love to host you in. We share the house with our cat Angela, so hopefully you're not allergic! Another thing that is worth mentioning is that we have neither internet or cable at our house, if that's a thing you require than perhaps we're not the best folks to stay with :)
LGBTQ* positive space.

Music, Movies, and Books
There's no specific genre of music that I don't love, but I have a tendency of listening to local music more than anything, so perhaps listing them here might not be too helpful for travellers. I guess I have a soft spot for catchy pop tunes though :)
Favourite book: Anything by Barbara Kingsolver, "Where the Crawdads Sing" by Delia Owens, "Late Nights on Air" by Elizabeth Hay.
Favourite Movies: Booksmart is the best movie in the world right now in my opinion. 'Joyeaux Noel' was really good. "Amelie" also. I don't often do horror movies, but 'Get Out' was amazing.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A summer of running a farm with my friend where we grew an acre of vegetables and raised 20 pigs was one of the hardest, most stressful, and yet entirely rewarding experiences of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I consider myself pretty well versed on the history of this area and love sharing that information with anyone who's curious.

I love to make meals either for, or with, hosts and share stories of our times and travels in this world.
