About Me

Currently traveling with my partner & collaborator, Alana. Alana is goofy and introverted, knows some spanish. We believe we are easy house guests...interested in cuisine, history, science, community living, the future of humanity, agriculture, geology, psychology....

We like hosting at our home and are interested to get a more intimate experience of Spain than we get traveling in places where we don't already know people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet people who would like to stay in my home, or to stay in other peoples places and meet them.

Interests

Being outdoors, being indoors, good/stimulating/intellegent conversation. I like to canoe, hike, fly airplanes, camp , fix things, build things, create things, throw pottery, make cheese, bread, wine, etc. and the list goes on. I'm interested in tons of stuff.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite childhood movie: Real Genius
Other favorite video type media: The original Cosmos with Carl Sagan
TED talks
Music: A lot of different types, as long as it's not too twangy or noisy.
Don't read a lot, but some authors I've liked include Robert Persig, Kurt Vonnegut, Elmore Leonard.
I also like philosophy of Alan Watts

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmmm... I'm not good at the "best" type questions. I've traveled China by myself during Chinese new year without a tour guide or a plan, it turned out great, met a lot of great people. I paid off my student loans a couple months ago. Getting my pilots license was pretty cool as well as some of the places I've flown. Burning man was pretty great back when your average person didn't know about it and you could still buy tickets. I'm sure there is something more amazing, I just can't think of it now.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't understand this question, but I love to do all of these things. I sometimes think of changing careers to teaching. If you want to teach/learn/share anything having to do with science, the cosmos, the human condition, philosophy, relationships, art, etc. I can take part. I would not be so good with pop culture, hollywood, etc.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a very interesting, open, and safe person to talk to. I can mostly offer engaging others in interesting conversation.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Canada, China, Costa Rica, El Salvador, France, Germany, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Portugal, Spain
